His Word and Our Studies

Totally not here to try and write something new or even improved...we have such a wealth of resources on the web, blogs, etc.. that really this one is not needed...so with that...I have had friends ask some different question about how we home educate our kids so here is something that has been working for us. This week the older girls and I have been in Proverbs chapter 1...we have been focusing in on the scripture pressing into God and asking for eyes to see what He is showing us about Himself.  I have been so blessed this week by chapter 1 and just what He has there for us.  We also try to impart to them that when we approach His word to not approach it in a manner of asking "how does this apply to me" but to first seek Him...seeking to love and know Him more...  He is graciously giving us just a unquenchable hunger for Him and His word...and then trusting that we would impart that and be in the word with our kids...as well as live this out in our home, neighborhood, etc..So this is more of an ideal than anything...the most profound part of our day is being in the word...that has found us this year reading through Mark, Luke, Matthew and now Proverbs. I can honestly say being in His word and praying is the most important aspect to educating our kids. We don't set a timer for this but instead read and discuss and study the context to what we are reading...seeking Him just desiring to know Him with both heart and mind. Please don't get sidetrack into thinking about the "doing" part..really if you know me then knowing I just desire this to be about being with HIM and being able to impart this with our girls. Allowing Him to reveal Himself to them and me....
